Spare some time to help save lives and strike out breast cancer at the 6th Annual Spare Nothing for the Cure on Sunday, Oct. 19. This family-friendly bowling fundraiser benefits breast cancer research and local breast health programs funded by Komen St. Louis.
New for 2014, participants can choose to compete for top bowler prizes or bowl Just for Fun. A costume contest — whether it’s all about pink or inspired by Halloween — will add creativity and spirit to the day.
Bowlers can choose from two locations: Brunswick Zone in Chesterfield or Brunswick Zone XL in St. Peters. Each bowling alley hosts two sessions: noon-2 pm and 3-5 pm.
The entry fee is $30 per bowler. Each registration includes two hours of unlimited bowling, shoe rental and a chance to win prizes while contributing to the cause. Plus, participants can bid on raffle baskets, participate in a 50/50 raffle and a “Spare $5 for a Strike” raffle.
During the past five years, hundreds of Spare Nothing for the Cure bowlers have helped raise more than $87,000 for the fight against breast cancer. These funds directly impact the breast health needs of local women, men and families.
Seventy-five percent of the net funds raised by Komen St. Louis stays in the local community to fund life-saving breast health screening, education and patient navigation programs. The remaining 25 percent funds groundbreaking breast cancer research in St. Louis and beyond.
